The REDD ROSE Bed and Breakfast is an 1850's vintage home located in the Finger Lakes Wine Country.  In 1791, lot #73 was originally awarded to a John Brown for his service in the New York State Militia during the Revolutionary War.  The early maps identify that in 1860 an Anthony Austin had a house constructed
on the property some year(s) earlier.  He lived with his wife Melisa and son George, a laborer Daniel and a domestic Mary Greenway from Germany.  The house and large barn are beam construction with hand hewed and some saw cut beams.  The lot size now is 3.24 acres compared to the original acreage of 170.5 acres when Anthony Austin lived here.
